The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 本片传承自92版Candyman，当初的Candyman是白人圣母，本片的candyman是圣母搭救的婴儿，长大成人，继承成为Candyman。

一部黑人血泪史 糖果人和隐形人设定相像 都是你看不见 但危险就在那里 观众比角色更能感知危险从而加重了惊悚 以及通过媒介在剧情设定和摄影上玩花样（镜子-任何反射的东西/衣服-任何能覆盖或沾染的东西）
