The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 低分好片，老吉这表演不比瑞恩在活埋里面表现好？我是真想他得次奥斯卡。
感觉是会大量出现在中戏北电各大考场的情景命题。但其实结局也蛮好猜的啦 扣一星
还挺紧张刺激的，靠一个人撑起一个故事。就是略显单薄
翻拍的丹麦的the guilty。因为已经知道剧情所以我真的很难投入，时不时想快进，但是为了欣赏吉伦哈尔的演技我一直克制住了。感觉没有原版好，吉伦太躁动了，电话里的声音表演痕迹很重，最后的处理也太直白了。不管怎么样对各种精神疾病多关注真的很重要。

总体来说完成度较高，但是我还是喜欢内敛一点的原版，这部有点太外放了，男主很多动作和表情辅助演绎情绪外露，可能先看了原版的原因吧
看了一会发现看过原版，看得有点不耐烦，属实是一般
由于影片特殊的形式，整个电影几乎全都是杰克吉伦哈尔所饰演警察的特写与中景镜头，他也不负众望的完成了任务。
吉伦哈尔的个人秀，但是全程没有什么代入感，得知真相时也是WTF？然后最后的救赎感也竟然完全没有。想来想去，估计还是因为剧情的转折太过于快了吧。2021/10/5大森家
3.5 很久没看到过这类型的电影了，还以为好莱坞不再做类似的东西了。吉伦哈尔的演技无可挑剔，但故事的反转还是有些俗套，最后一幕剧情节奏编排不太好
吉伦哈尔演的很好，整整90分钟的独角戏。但是这片实在是无聊，一个神经病接线员接了一个神经病的电话导致了一场90分钟的神经病电影。
你可以一直信任杰克的演技，翻拍虽然没有原版精彩，但是杰克奉献了教科书般的独角戏。
有想法的本子和拍摄，但是对演员要求太高了，吉伦哈尔演的不错但有点满。虽然本片主角是不该让人喜欢，但暴躁和忏悔的表现还是有点分裂，让人无法对主角产生深刻共情。
broken people save brken people。从一开始就目不转睛，代入感太强了。源代码老铁演技也是太强了。毕竟全局都只有他，但渲染的氛围却历历在目！强！
其实不错，可以有原版珠玉在前，没有新鲜感了……
