The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这电影很有深层意义，不是一般的恐怖片，女儿长期压抑自己来讨好母亲最后心理分身出内心最真实的自己
超自然的成分要大于恐怖成分，鸡娃主要原因在于妈妈，想表现的东西很多很杂反而没有重点。
细品故事剧情还是有一番味道的，有让人想知道结局如何的欲望。男主从跟随千老大这个半生意人，还在40岁之前碌碌无为，朴素的享受愿望被现实的债款和重复的生活打破，促使他想放手一搏创出天地来。周遭和性格注定让他的结局沦为影片所形容的，“要么堕落低谷，要么飞身成神”，一个脚踩悲伤和怨恨的人，注定会走向人生的两个极端。“因时识局”，也是男主走向成功的特点之一，在不同的处境找到最适合的合作伙伴。里面很多黑道生存的名言也能成为生活的启示。最后那个叫着男主爸爸的小混混真惨一男。
这是对标《江陵》吗？不争个你死我活不罢休，釜山口音依旧是亮点啊，仿佛成了帮派的特征之一。희수 结尾大开杀戒，竟然有种悲壮的美。

典型韓式黑幫片，既不夠熱血也不夠黑暗，除了全片方言之外可謂毫無亮點
“有人说过，我这种人只能去两个地方，要么跌至谷底，要么登顶为王。他还说，这两个都特别冷清，却毫无意义。有些人死了，有些人离开，火热的东西全部消失，一切犹如幻觉，变得冷清，毫无意义，但我们又要在幻觉中活下去，将耻辱与悲伤深埋大海。”
有点黑帮哲学的意味。。现在纯真的有意思的犯罪黑帮，还是得棒子来啊。。港片不行不行。。哈哈哈。。
不羡鸳鸯不羡仙，只羡北欧每一天。意外的不难看，有生吃那味儿了。
看到一个评论很对，小熊软糖滤镜下的深刻隐喻。最后的结局也让人细思极恐。
全篇都看的人极度难受，让人想杀了除后爸以外所有人，后妈有几个镜头特别像鬼妈妈。

看起来幸福美满的四口之家，却是母亲一手摆拍出来的，父亲懦弱，弟弟被忽视，妈妈的强势控制着家里的一切，而姐姐正在被妈妈塑造成另一个自己。有一天，姐姐捡到一个蛋，于是孵化出了一个意想不到的恶魔。片子用惊悚的方式，展示了家庭关系中真实可怕的一面，还有些重口味的元素，开放式的结尾带着遐想的后劲儿，整体来说还不错。6.8分
真是，名字里叫什么，往往缺的就是什么，热血，在哪里?
其实还挺有内容的韩国黑帮片，复杂而真实的人性把控得挺到位。

但我个人觉得作为起源电影至少完成了引入角色的任务，而且明显是在铺垫日后更多的集结。
